Small, polished apps for the M5Stack Cardputer

Open-source firmware for the Cardputer and Cardputer ADV. Every IP9 app looks and works the same way: a home screen of large cards, menus that explain every option, help on tab and a status light that tells you what is going on.

IP9 LG Remote

A Magic-Remote-style controller for LG webOS TVs.

  • Wi-Fi remote over the webOS API: pointer, typing straight into TV text fields, app launcher, volume
  • Infrared for every LG TV, also while the TV is off
  • Bluetooth (webOS 5+) and USB cable modes: keyboard, mouse and media keys
  • Air mouse on the Cardputer ADV (motion sensor)
  • Guided setup for every mode, settings backup on the SD card

The remote runs USB in keyboard / mouse mode, so hold G0 while plugging the cable in to flash it.

IP9 VoiceRec

v1.2.0

A voice recorder that writes MP3 straight to the SD card.

  • MP3 on the fly: 16 kHz mono, 32 / 48 / 64 kbit/s (about 21 MB per hour of speech at 48 kbit/s)
  • Voice activation that follows the room's noise, with a 360 ms pre-roll so no first syllable is lost
  • Mic check and two-step calibration: gain and sensitivity set from your room and your voice
  • Built-in player: pause, seek, next / previous, volume, delete
  • Keeps recording with the screen off; the status LED shows listening, recording and saving

Needs a microSD card (FAT32) for the recordings.

How to install

1 From the browser

Chrome or Edge on a computer, Cardputer connected with a USB-C data cable. Press Install from browser on the app and pick the serial port.

Not listed? Unplug, hold G0 while plugging the cable back in, release, try again. The full image replaces whatever is on the device, M5Launcher included.

2 With M5Launcher

Download the app image (.bin), copy it to the SD card (FAT32), then in M5Launcher choose SD → the file → Install.

Keeps M5Launcher, so you can switch between apps.

3 With esptool

Flash the full image at offset 0x0:

esptool.py --chip esp32s3 write_flash 0x0 IP9LGRemote-1.6.0-full.bin

Settings survive updates. Every app runs on both the original Cardputer and the Cardputer ADV.

IP9Kit 1.0.0

The shared core of all IP9 apps, as a PlatformIO library: app shell with screen stack, status bar and toasts, home carousel, self-explaining menus, help and dialog screens, keyboard events, status LED, battery and backlight. A new app starts from a working home screen and only adds what makes it different.
